Abishek + Poornima Engagement Photography
I have a bunch of childhood friends with whom I remain close to and Poorni is one of them. We laughed and fought together, seen each other struggle and succeed and know the other one’s history : ) She is a Chatterer, a fine classical dancer and studious too. I could speak volumes about our friendship. However, life takes you in different directions based on the choices we make. She aspired to a scholarly career. She wrote her civil service examinations and became the forest officer in the district of Odisha. Mean time, I moved to Doha, Qatar as a photographer for my passion in the field of arts. Though we drifted apart in distance, whenever we see each other again, we would pick up exactly from where we left off.
She called me one day and said she met this wonderful man Abishek and they are planning to get engaged! Woah, Can I get a better news for this season! : ) I’m super happy this time because I will be creating some ever-lasting memories on her big day. Yes, of course, happiness is capturing your best friend as a bride and this shoot will remain close to my heart. We both started making plans for décor, DJ and others. Later, me and my family flew to Chennai the day before her engagement.
It has been decades since I saw her. When I noticed her first, she looked the same gorgeous girl I met years ago. There was a small intimate ceremony in the afternoon. Followed by that, we had the engagement party in the evening. She wore a pink blouse and voluminous golden skirt , decked with flower jewellery and Abishek wore a black fitting suit. The ritual began with a puja and the bride was given with the new saree and jewellery from the groom’s family. After which, the parents of bride and groom exchanged their plates with the writing of marriage agreement.
Abhi and Poo exchanged their rings, cut the cake and had their first dance to celebrate their new commitment into one another. My wife sang the popular ‘Ey Sandakaara’ song. It was lovely to listen to her. The DJ played the specific play list given by her. It was so much fun to watch all her friends and family join the dance. I could clearly see how happy she was.! That night was crazy enough and ended well.
Next day early in the morning, we headed to PuliKat lake for the pre- wedding shoot. We shot along the blue waters. We also shot in the luminous green forest. Do you know what’s more beautiful than that? Her giggles and dainty twirls when sunshine filtered through the leaves. Check the below set and tell us if you like it.
See you soon in another beautiful wedding. You can find the full ALBUM below.
